      Christmas gifts for infants

I have noticed that alot of people are stressing about giving Christmas gifts to their infants/babies.

Why all the stress?  When I was 6 months old, I cannot remember Christmas, gifts, etc.  Can you?

I cannot remember when I was 9 months old.  Can you?

So, why stress out or stress other people out about this.

Why not 'make a gift' for the little darling.  Share love and joy this Christmas.

Trust me, there will be plenty of time to 'stress' when they get older.

Wishing all a  Merry Christmas that's stress free.

in response to char6...   Hi Char6
It is all in the thought. When my friend had grand kids and no carry in her purse album for the pictures I found it at pick n save or 99 cents store or Walgreens and I had to look for them and they were very nice. She loved them and does so much with the church helping homeless there and she is the one who hubby had surgery.I love the 99c store vasaline , qtips and lots more cheaper and love walgreens as it was close by mom's.
My walk was okay just needs to get warmer and I did get cleaned up today another shower and hair washed so feel human.
        Oh good got heater working.
My mom before a trip she said can't wait to get home and she hadn't left yet.
        Sent you a pm
hugs and stay well and hope your baby is feeling good too

in response to ekikaseven...   I would be happy for that for anytime of the year verses a lot of presents. I feel that way to but people charge on charge cards to make sure there are presents.
I hope the bills are paid first.
Best wishes to you and I hope all is well as it is colder in many places
        Strange weather.
I wonder if there is a mail today?
        love you
God bless to you and I just read about Christmas and Easter. Interesting - thank you.

in response to Starshine...   You are so right.
Its better to have a roof & food than gifts any day.
If one can afford to buy gifts, then I feel its there money buy what they want. But, hopefully they will have the bills paid first.
        Best wishes

in response to ekikaseven...   I did my share of shopping and my cards were a dollar for a box and went to Target or less Pick n Save for towels etc. I ran around but loved the decorations at the malls and other places I went to more than the shopping.
And did buy mom a nice robe for mother's day but for Christmas it was something I made or bought and it was a sweater or something she wouldn't get for herself. We never had big Christmas growing up. We got about if three gifts and it what we need pjs ect. and family and celebrating the birth of Jesus was the big thing. Going to church for Christmas programs etc..Mom was raised going to church and studying the bible. I had or have her papers from Sunday school
It is more important to have roof and food on table than to worry about gifts too.
        Have a great Christmas.

The best holidays will always be the ones that we spent with loved ones.

The problem I have with all this is: Christmas is supposed to be the celebration of Christ birthday!
Now,when we celebrate a birthday-who gets the presents? I will tell you,its always the one with the 'birthday'. The guests do not 'get presents'. So,why in the heck do we think we should get the present on His birthday. We need to wait until its 'our birthday' to get presents.
Oh, I used to be like others. I used to 'worry' about giving other presents on Christmas. I used to struggle & buy presents to please others. I have bought gifts for years for my nephew & neices, family, friends. I have bought gifts for children of strangers, kids I never met. It was quite stressful. Not just in a monetary way, but also running around stores & wasting gas to find items. Now,that was years ago. I am so glad that I have wisen up, came to realize the 'truth' & true meaning of the day. I am so glad I got off the "stupid train". Now, I have NO stress when it comes to this holiday. Because I know who the 'birthday boy is". Its my L-rd,Saviour,Messiah.

Oh that is for sure plenty of time to stress when they get older. I remember being a kid and what mom and dad had to endure with bills and the holidays. Heck we didn't know the ice cream man was not the music man till we were 10-12 years old as they had no money for the ice cream man. Our best Christmas as I stated before was spent with family and friends plus relatives.

in response to char6...   Yes freecycle.org and craigslist.org if great for free things for the children and so is the library to rent movies and buy books on sale cheap. And a good idea to bring gifts for a certain amount and enjoy each others company..

in response to char6...   Thats great.
I hope others use your wonderful idea & do the same with their families.

People are stressing out about Christmas and then they want to stress others out requesting items for their kids. Now, why should I be stressed out over 'their' kids?
I have received private emails requesting help for Christmas. I will probably be making a public post letting them know not to even email me requesting Christmas help.

I'm glad that you are a wise person.
        Best wishes

hi! i made this exact comment a few days ago! Babies dont have any idea what Christmas is about and its a good time to teach older children the real meaning. There are so many fun things you can do to make Christmas meaningful and rewarding for the entire family. Also its really surprising how many great things people are giving away on craigslist or freecycle. When i was single I had to stretch my dollars and learned to live simply. I tried to instill this in my kids so that they didnt hit me with all the commercial guilt revolved around the Christmas season. All through the year, I pick up small things as money permits so by the time August comes, Im done with Christmas regardless. We have started the tradition of camping on holidays to go back to the basics. When everyone comes for Christmas, they are asked to bring a gift valued at one dollar and we enjoy each others company, eat, play games, and exchange our gifts which bring so much joy and laughter!

I have older children and am making them their Christmas presents this year.

Its not the present its the thought behind it.

        I agree with you ekikaseven.
